Standing on the forward right corner of the Square of Judgement, Utu speaks of everything that is to come. He does not judge the actions that a person has taken, but rather what the person left incomplete at the time of his death.
Utu, like his brother Judges, is quiet and standoffish in the presence of the other Gods. No God counts Utu as a close friend. In the past, he has helped Simel, Stram, and B'cor to accomplish their responsibilities, but providing this assistance might have been a whim on Utu's part.
Utu and Ferin harbor a strong dislike for each other. Ferin's constant interference in his carefully ordered plans infuriates the God of the Future. For his part, Ferin appears to be amused by disordering the intricate strands of Utu's plans. Servants of the two Gods will rarely work together.
Recently, Ferin did something that angered Utu so seriously that there are murmurs of a war between the two Gods. The actual events involved are unclear, but they appear to have disrupted a plan that was several thousand years in the making.
The priests of Utu are constantly busy, directed by their God to meddle in the affairs of farmers and kings. Their God rarely tells them why they must take a certain action; Utu plays his priests like chess pieces, moving them against the tides of darkness spawned by demons and Old Ones.
Some priests of Utu spend all of their lives in a single village or town, protecting a person or family. Others wander the countryside, or establish small monasteries far away from the world. Only the most favored are allowed to command other priests, directing the efforts of the God's servants when Utu must attend to other matters.
All Servants of Utu must have Hand to Hand Trained, Leadership, and Talent (the Personal Pattern Skill) as Vocational skills.
