Contrary to popular belief, Set is not one of the 'Fallen Gods.' He serves his purpose in the Pattern at on the back left corner of the Square of Judgement, calling for the ordained end of all things. If Set is somewhat enthusiastic about pursuing that end, it is only to be expected of a God.
Set is the embodiment of the death wish that exists in every living thing. He understands the seduction of death, and uses this knowledge to his advantage.
Sember and Besa occasionally work with Set, when their agendas match his. Set can also count on at least non-interference from the other Gods of Death. Kane, the God of Justice, has occasionally ruled in Set's favor against other Gods, even when the evidence pointed against his brother.
There are a number of independent cults dedicated to Set. Most of these cults have Set's tacit approval. Some are lead by his priests. A few of these groups are:
Both B'cor and Rancor are dedicated enemies of Set. The God of Creation will often send his servants to stop Set's plans, at the expense of his own. B'cor is not as aware as Rancor, but his priests will direct their destructive powers at any follower of Set that they encounter, no matter what the consequences.
Priests of Set are a dangerous and contradictory lot. Many are assassins or sell services to assassins. A few serve as instructors in various armies, spreading death and discord wherever they can. Such activities are pleasing to this dark god, and to the priests that he chooses.
The one unifying element among all of the Priests of Set is that they have a strong wish for death, both their own and others. This causes them to be somewhat reckless, a trait that is sometimes mistaken for courage.
Any priest of Set who does not carefully plan his dark deeds incurs the God's displeasure. Random violence does not serve to further the God's goals; only planned chaos and terror can accomplish the total destruction of the world.
Priests of Set are not welcome in any country.
